Tarascan Soup!

The original Tarascan soup

The Tarascan soup was originally created by the indigenous Purepecha. The origin of the Tarascan soup derives from the Purepecha soup, to which were added red tomatoes and the chile pasilla; today this soup is one of the popular Mexican dishes served everywhere in the country. Some people say that this dish was only served for the gods and kings.

The word “Tarascan” is actually Nahuatl, it translates into English as “fierce people.”  They gave these people that name because they were the only group in there native territory of Michoacan who the “Aztecs” actively tried to conquer and never could.
The indigenous Purepechas are located in Michoacan Mexico. They are the ones who came out with this original recipe. Whenever you get a chance to go to mexico or to be more specific to Michoacan mexico don’t miss to try the delicious Tarascan soup, you won’t regret. Pumpkin Pie

Making a home made gluten-free pumpkin pie does not get any easier than this. How about if we make it for Thanksgiving day!

It’s time to enjoy the season and the smell of a delicious pumpkin pie. No matter what the dinner will be, the pumpkin pie can’t be missed. Kids love the smell and the whole movement in the kitchen. They can even help to put their little fingers in the puree or add the salt to the ingredients. Cooking feels good when all the family is involved.

This pumpkin pie is a special recipe from my table to yours:

Let’s do this…You need the following

Preheat the oven at 375 degrees

2 cups pumpkin puree

3/4 cup honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

3/4 cup heavy cream

2 eggs, lightly beaten

unbaked pie crust

Instructions:;

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Mix the puree, honey, vanilla, salt, cream and spice together and then add the eggs.

Pour the mixture into the pie shell.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool and serve

Welcome to my world!

Thank you for visiting my world. Yes, this is my world, is what passionates me the most, food. Food talks to you, food can make you fall in love, it tells you a lot about a person, I hope we can get to know each other and enjoy my world. I come from a small town where everything is made out with fresh ingredients. You wake up early in the morning around 6am and the tortillera lady has the tortillas ready for you to pick up. You walk to the other block and pick up the milk fresh from the cow. You go to la tiendita and buy fresh eggs. You go to the mercado and pick up everything you need to prepare the meal of the day, all with fresh ingredients from the campo. All picked up by the humble people who come from different towns to sell their products to the big city to continue providing for their families. Now you know the importance of having fresh products on my table. It’s part of my childhood and it’s part of my essence. With all my heart and passion from my table to yours.

My blog its about food, any kind of food from everywhere. For every person there is a special dish that transports them to their most important place as a child and that is home. That special place that brings beautiful memories. This is why food is so special to me and that will be my adventure. Take you back in time to those places. Hope you enjoy my journey
